Colored labels for Dymo printers

Colored Dymo labels are an easy way to create structure and work more efficiently. By assigning a color to your orders, folders, or shelves, you can instantly see what has priority and where things belong. On this page, you'll find the main benefits, the most popular sizes, and smart tips for choosing the right color.

Why use colored labels?

  • Faster recognition: color coding for departments, order status, or product groups.
  • Better overview: keep archive, returns, and stock clearly separated.
  • Professional appearance: consistent color use per brand or workflow.

Popular sizes

All well-known Dymo sizes are also available in color (such as red, blue, green, and yellow). Some of the most popular examples:

  • 99010 (89 × 28 mm): address and barcode labels.
  • 99012 (89 × 36 mm): large address label with extra space.
  • 99014 (101 × 54 mm): extra large address label for more space.
  • S0904980 (104 × 159 mm): shipping labels.

We also offer models 11352, 11354, and 11355 in yellow.

How to choose your color

  • Process color: e.g. green = done, yellow = in progress, red = action required.
  • Location/zone: give each storage area or route its own color.
  • Brand/series: use consistent color lines for product families.

Compatibility

These colored labels are compatible with the Dymo LabelWriter 400/450 series (and older). Note: the LabelWriter 550 and 5XL only accept original Dymo rolls with an RFID chip — compatible rolls won't work on those printers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use colored labels for shipping?
Yes, as long as the size matches your carrier's requirements and your printer model. Keep in mind that some carriers prefer black-on-white labels for optimal barcode scanning.

Can barcodes be scanned properly on colored labels?
Yes, as long as the contrast is sufficient (black print on a light color). Always test with your scanner before ordering in bulk.
