This label is made for use in the freezer: it stays stuck down to -20°C and stays legible, even if it gets wet or fogs up. A standard paper label for the Seiko SLP-2RL will quickly peel off or fade in the freezer due to condensation. This version is built to withstand that.
Useful for anyone applying labels to products going into the freezer: a frozen goods warehouse, a catering business freezing meals, a butcher or fishmonger, or a lab storing samples at -20°C. If you need labels for room-temperature use, such as a plain address label, the standard Seiko SLP-2RL is more affordable and works just as well.
The difference is in the material: instead of paper, this label is made of polypropylene (PP), which doesn't absorb moisture and doesn't tear at low temperatures. The glue is a permanent hot-melt variant that keeps holding even in cold and damp conditions. Important: apply the label on a dry surface free of frost or ice, at a minimum of -15°C. Stick the label on the product before it goes into the freezer, and it will then stay put down to -20°C.
A roll holds 260 labels measuring 28 x 89 mm. The labels are direct thermal and work without ink, ribbon or toner, you just need a compatible Seiko label printer. Like our other labels, they're 100% BPA-, BPS- and phthalate-free, so safe to use around food as well.
