Transfer ribbon - wax - 64mm x 74m

This wax ribbon is the most widely used and most affordable choice for thermal transfer printing on paper labels. Do you print mostly indoors, on labels that aren't exposed to friction, moisture or chemicals, such as address or shipping labels, warehouse labels or price tags? Then this is exactly what you need. This ribbon measures 64mm x 74m.

The difference with resin or wax/resin ribbons lies in how durable the print is. Wax adheres well to standard and coated paper, but the print is more sensitive to scratching, moisture and heat than with resin. For labels that hang outdoors, come into contact with chemicals, or are wiped frequently, a resin or wax/resin ribbon is a better fit. For most indoor uses, though, wax is more than sufficient and considerably cheaper.

This ribbon is used together with a thermal transfer printer (not a direct thermal printer): the printhead melts the wax coating on the ribbon onto the label, giving a sharp, durable print that doesn't fade the way direct thermal printing often does.
