Transfer ribbon - wax/resin - 64mm x 74m
This wax/resin ribbon is the middle ground between wax and resin: more resistant to scratches, moisture and light chemicals than a pure wax ribbon, but more affordable than a pure resin ribbon. Not sure whether to choose wax or resin, or want a label that can take a bit more without the higher price of resin? Then this is a good compromise. This ribbon measures 64mm x 74m.
The difference with pure resin lies in the level of protection: wax/resin suits coated paper and some plastics, and withstands light friction and occasional contact with moisture or chemicals. For labels under heavy strain, such as outdoors, on chemical drums, or on pure plastic packaging, pure resin is still the better choice. Is it simple labels without special demands? Then wax is more affordable.
This ribbon is used together with a thermal transfer printer: the printhead melts the wax/resin coating on the ribbon onto the label, giving a sharp print that holds up better to wear than a pure wax ribbon.

What's this narrow wax/resin ribbon most suitable for?
This 64mm wax/resin ribbon suits smaller labels, roughly up to 60mm wide, that need a bit more durability than plain wax: coated paper labels, small product labels, or labels that get handled or lightly rubbed regularly.
It's a good match for compact desktop and mid-range printers producing narrower label runs, where a full-width 110mm wax/resin ribbon would waste material.
Can this 64mm roll also be used for wider labels?
Technically a ribbon can be wider than the label, but not narrower without risk. If your label web is wider than about 60mm, this 64mm ribbon won't fully cover it, and part of the printhead will run directly over uncovered material, which causes premature wear and can hurt print quality near the label edge.
For wider labels, choose the 110mm wax/resin version of this ribbon instead, matched to your actual label web width.
What should I check if I want to use this ribbon in a non-Zebra printer?
Yes. This is a compatible ribbon, not an original Zebra cartridge, and it fits any label printer accepting this width, core diameter and winding direction, whatever the brand, including Zebra, Honeywell, TSC, Godex and Citizen printers.
Before ordering, check your printer's manual for its supported ribbon width and length range, and whether it needs ink-in or ink-out winding, since that depends on the printer model rather than the brand.
